Augusta Missouri
A Town for All Seasons ...

Visit Missouri Wine and Bike for more information on the Missouri Viticultural Area ...

As you drive down scenic Highway 94 in St. Charles County, you'll begin a trip on one of Missouri's greatest treasures,
The Weinstrasse, (German for "road to the wineries").
The first stop along the way will be 'Sugar Creek Winery' , just outside the town of Defiance.  Ken and Becky Miller have created a unique wine tasting experience with beautiful views of the Missouri River Bottom area.
After your stop there, continue to drive on and the  flat areas give way to increasing elevations along the bluffs.

Outside of Defiance Missouri is...Chandler Hill Winery.

Next stop will be  'Montelle Winery' with unparalleled views of the Missouri River Valley.  Wonderful patios and picnic benches invite you to linger and sip on one of Montelles' award winning wines.   Augusta is just a bit further down the road.

Check into Augusta Lindenhof Bed and Breakfast before you begin exploring the town.  Augusta has two additional wineries and several shops within walking distance.

The well-known 'Mount Pleasant  Winery' with fabulous views of the river bottom valley is very popular.  You will find a huge tasting room, a gourmet cheese shop, and plenty of picnic areas.

'Augusta Winery' is just down the street from our bed and breakfast.  Small in size but great in wine producing, Augusta Winery has won many prestigious medals. It is a must for the wine connoisseur.

Augusta has long been known as the heart of Missouri wine country.  All through the year  offer various events.  Check the wineries
"calendar of events"...

Check out ... Noboleis Winery, just about one mile west of Augusta.

Balducci's Winery and Vineyards is a few more miles down Highway 94.  Set back in a valley, they offer great wines as well as pizza, pasta and salads from their well-known St. Louis restaurants.

Blumenhof Winery waits 4 more miles up ahead to round out your visit to the Weinstrasse.  Very German in style you'll  feel as if you are in a Bavarian village as sounds of the German Bands (seasonal) gather people to the dance floor for a polka.

Just past Dutzow and before Marthasvile, MO, near the Daniel Boone Monument is
Lake Creek Winery.  The lunch I had was incredible ... I can't wait to try their dinners.
Check out their Menu ...

If beer seems more to your liking, then you must not miss

Don't miss Centennial Farms for fresh produce...

The farm has been owned and operated by our family for over 150 years and we represent the fourth generation. Our first orchards and vineyards were planted in 1969 on what had been a grain and livestock farm.

We offer "a taste of history" along with seasonal fruit and vegetables and good things made in our farm kitchen. Come visit our market in the century old timber framed barn which is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places.

The Annual
Plein Air Art Event

Each spring artists and art admirers from across the country are drawn to Missouri wine country for what has quickly become one of the Midwest's premier fine art happenings, known as the Augusta Plein Air Art Event. Artists gather daily, venturing out into the town and surrounding countryside to paint in the natural light
(plein air) with the opportunity to enjoy one another's company while participating in workshops and special events. The beauty of the hills, many landscaped by the rolling vineyards, and the fruit they produce invite the palate to sample the award winning wines.
The event culminates in an art show and auction, presenting an opportunity to take home an original work of art.
